The group meets by Wildflowers' barn at Brockwood Park in Hampshire from 8.45 am. At 9.15 am we sit together to say a seasonal rhyme and talk about something interesting. The we walk to nearby natural spaces where the children climb and balance; observe changes in the trees and landscape over the seasons; explore plants and places; construct, invent and play imaginatively using what they find; and learn to stay safe and be kind to others. Mid-morning, we eat fruit and home-baked bread and make up a story.
When returning to the barn at 12.30 pm, the two-year-olds are collected. The others go inside to have a quiet rest and a warm healthy meal. Afterwards, the children engage in creative play or an activity in which they experiment with materials and develop skills. Before the children are collected at 3 pm, we gather to talk about what we did, saw and enjoyed.
